In my capacity as Managing Director and Chairman of SgC and the co-founding partner of Samdani & Qureshi, I am proud that we have been leading the legal environment in Pakistan for over three decades. Deeply valuing counsel-client relations and goals, our work environment echoes professionalism and a commitment based on human ethics and morals. With experienced and reputed experts from different industries working alongside legal specialists, we are well equipped to tackle complex transactions and provide strategies coupled with innovation, setting a benchmark in the market and industry.
SgC as a collaborating firm of Andersen Global, in Pakistan, is being relaunched with Rashid Ibrahim, a former country tax lead partner of A.F. Fergusons (a member firm of PwC), the largest tax practice in the country, as managing partner who has experience of over thirty years serving multinational & national corporate and other clients, advising government
on tax matters, and providing leadership to tax experts in the country; and Dr Nudrat E. Piracha, a specialist in International Law and Appropriate Dispute Resolution Mechanisms, as a partner. Dr Piracha, as Solicitor-Advocate, has right of audience upto the Supreme Court of United Kingdom. In a career stretching over seventeen years at SgC, she has worked as counsel in the field of ADR, in particular on arbitrations, before ICSID, ICC, SCC, SIAC, and Ad Hoc tribunals. She is the first Pakistani woman to be awarded a Doctorate of Juridical Sciences (S.J.D) from the USA and to be appointed to the ICSID Annulment Committee. She is also the first lawyer from Pakistan to become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK (FCIArb), a Fulbright scholar and a Weinstein JAMS International Fellow for 2018.
